today announced the launch of its Video On Demand (VOD) service in the
company's Union and Plainfield, NJ cable systems. The launch will give
304,000 Comcast cable customers the opportunity to order movies and special
programming anytime they want, with complete VCR functionality, without
leaving their homes.
With VOD, Comcast customers in parts of northern New Jersey can select
from hundreds of new releases, classic movies, and special programs anytime of
the day or night via their digital cable box. Programs can be paused,
rewound, and fast forwarded, as well as be stored for up to 24 hours from time
of ordering, so customers can watch as often as they like.
"Comcast is dedicated to bringing our customers the best and most advanced
