I hate to agree with you on this one Jerome and perhaps you hate to be right. That whole team now appears to be so old and so out of touch. Frank Lenz?? said a couple of days ago that bush had until turkey day to make folks feel better or his poll ratings would really go into the tank along with the economy and the christmas sales season. Lenz?? was a republican pollster and strategist not an opponent of GW. mike

FIBER Leading Inflation Index at 8-year low in Aug
NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - The Foundation for International Business and Economic Research (FIBER) said on Friday its Leading Inflation Index fell sharply to an eight year low of 93.7 in August from a revised 95.5 in July.


Sharp falls in the National Association of Purchasing Management surveys of buying prices and vendor performance pulled FIBER's index lower, the report said.

``Inflation pressure in the U.S. economy are continuing to subside,'' according to the report.

The smoothed growth rate of fell to -11.2 percent in August from -9.4 percent the prior month, the report said.

The FIBER index is a composite of nine individual indices from various institutions. The smoothed growth rate is a ratio of the current month's index to its average over the prior 12 months, expressed as a compound annual rate.
