in your dreams.. ever hear of credit ratings?<NG>
what other reasons why you would not buy CSCO?

not saying telecom will turn next month. Could be till 2003 till things turn around. We need to see many of the start-up carriers disappear.

JHP, have you ever heard of Asia? Cisco expects this region to grow from 15% of revenues to 25% (might have been 20%, but i think it's 25%). China and India offer huge potential, although China has been offering huge potential to American companies for years now..

Then again, we could see Asia go through the same problems US and European carriers have..

also, from what i've read, companies like Worldcom are still spending billions on CapEx. When China enters the WTO, i think they will open their economy to more foreign competition. Right now, there are two major wireless carriers. Once in the WTO, more competition will be allowed meaning more CapEx.

JHP, you're saying Cisco isn't a good buy because telecom is in the hole. Tons of debt and no more vender financing. All very good concerns..

Here's the problem I have, JHP your saying someone shouldn't buy Cisco because of all the problems in the industry (which one could argue is being priced into the stock), yet it wouldn't have been wise to buy Cisco when things looked great either (when start-ups were flush with cash) & the NASDAQ was at 5,000 and it seemed the build-out would continue for ever.
