I don't see enough comparative statistics to assign any credibility to what you write.

"A lot of machinery" doesn't cut it, insofar as numbers go.

Few countries were trading with, or recognizing the USSR in the 1920's. What percent of US GNP was import/export? Less than 5%. All US commodity prices were dropping, not just grain.
