Unadjusted sales seems to show a big drop in sales, while adjusted sales shows a rise. Seasonal adjustments may be distorting Adjusted sales: July 2001 vs. June 2001 227633 226302 source: census.gov Unadjusted sales: July 2001 vs. June 2001 223687 229460 source: census.gov As a consequence, the adjusted figures show a drop in inventory/sales ratio while the unadjusted figures show a large rise.
