Somehow I feel safer when he's trimming trees and playing fetch with the hounds than when he speaks ....

Methinks your spot on about the close. Do you think VIX 35+ is where capitulation might start, or are you thinking it signals the bottom is in (or close to it). I think VIX hit 40 in April blow-off, but I don't fully know how consistently and accurately it tracks actual market performance.
