The White House says they have a plan to help the economy but also say no new moves are being contemplated. And no help at all for the tech sector (our #1 export) which needs it the most. So what's this mean? They do nothing new just wait it out and fight for their huge tax cuts for the rich so the government goes deeply into debt? If you were running a company would you hand out huge dividends even though you don't have the cash to operate? Fiscal irresponsibily. Not conservative at all. Will cost us hundreds of billions in interest and keep the recession going for a long time.

Funny thing is IMHO, is that tax rates are pretty flat. One just has to belive (as I do)that FICA really is a federal income tax. FICA insures that middle and lower income levels pay their fair share of taxes. Therefore, I also believe that the rich do not pay nearly as much a percentage of Federal taxes as many conservatives say...because many working class people probably pay more in FICA than in Federal Income taxes.

Of course that won't change the fact that wealth and income are not exactly the same thing. IMHO tax structures other (european) countries have are designed to keep social and economic classes in their place - to deny the ability to move upward.
