. If the efficacy of prayer is what is intended to be demonstrated, then the deity would presumably be interested in demonstrating the efficacy of prayer, with few further complications. I can't imagine that this powerful deity would make demonstration of the efficacy of prayer its top priority and restrain from complicating its message by eschewing all other purported priorities, like how much people love Jesus or whether they follow the commandments. Now, the total weight of prayer for an individual trumps everything? That's just so incredibly inconsistent with any religious message I've ever heard, certainly on this board. In any event, it sure assumes a lot for a scientific study. Karen
