In the meantime, dubya just spoke about the economy and the need to reignite growth. Of course, he had to get partisan pointing out that he saw the slowdown last summer when he was campaigning [and that its Clinton's fault].....at least 3 mos before anyone else. That was good for a 20 point drop.

I can't believe you would accuse GW of "getting partisan"; what about those idiot Democrat congressional leaders? These people are cutthroat, literally making up tales to try and make Bush look bad.

I cannot recall a less "partisan" president than Bush has been thus far. Even while the Dems are lying to try and bring him down he doesn't attack them, knowing that integrity and competence will win out in the end.

I do not believe, at least in what I heard, he blamed Clinton in any overt sense. The point that the economic downturn started well before Clinton left office is a valid one, and it should be no surprise to anyone that it is looking pretty deep -- what goes up, must come down. It seems to me that you guys want to take credit for the "Clinton" economy as it went up, but blame Bush for the recession that clearly began before Clinton left office.

Of course, in the mind of a liberal, this could well seem sensible.
