Do not judge all of Christianity by the RC, the LC, or any of the behemoth institutions of men. As the large institutional churches floundered in scandal and depravity, the local non-denominational congregational churches flourished. Free of politics and rule from bureaucrats far away, the local church is free to do the Lord's work. It is important to understand that the church was never intended to be a political institution. The new testament church was built around local congregations that worked together for the common cause of Christ.

Are they perfect. No far from it. But do a quick study of charitable giving and see where the poor and downtrodden of the world would be were it not for the Christian Church. And yet it is important to remember that we do not consider charity a badge of honor to wear while patting ourselves on the back. As I said, we give freely, because we have been given so much more.
