Roth speaks so comfortably for shareholders because he has nothing to lose and nobody is pushing for his removal. The moment nortel is acquired, guess what the first decision of the acquirer would be? Turf Roth and bring him the shame he so richly deserves! Wonder why he favors going it alone?!

He's still trying to salvage his reputation and willing to take huge risks in the attempt; he's also gambling with what's left of nt investors' wealth in the process...

The bottom will be near when Roth is removed and replaced with a competent manager - so I guess it's up to shareholders now.
