this country needs honesty in its leadership more than it needs competency.

Amen!...and you need look no farther than the USSR experience to see the fruits of a morally bankrupt government staffed with very well-educated people. It is truly is a shame that the Russian people were caught in their socialistic fraud for 70+ years...lest we sometimes forget the lesson for our country!

Do you think we have that now? I don't. Did you see Bush last nite on TV. Stopping spending and perhaps revisiting the tax cuts in a recessionary period to protect the SS lockbox to ward off the democrats. If he was principled he would tell the American people not to worry about deficits in the shortrun as we try vigorously to get the economy going--ie cap gains cut, end corporate income tax, step up rate lowering, cut waste in government but spend where there is need etc etc. Bush is a huge disappointment and although he may not sleep around, i would trade him in for a moderate like Clinton was in effect. I say that reluctantly. mike
