Hi Charleymane; Re Buckley's ardent support of anti-communism as a youth.

I felt the same way. Now that the cold war is over, I don't see why we must keep the big government that fought it. The Russians got rid of theirs, LOL!

Buckley has almost always been a statist. When the communist Gore Vidal called Buckley a nazi on live television during 1968, Vidal didn't know how close to the truth he was.

I have to laugh... a communist statist and a fascist statist... reminds me of Stalin and Hitler... they both hated each other's guts, but were cut from the same cloth.
