Intesting article! But even more interesting is that it appeared in BUSINESS WEEK. That magazine was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the NAZ bubble and "new economy" during the late 1990s.

Frank, thanks for posting this excellent article. The fact that it appears in Business Week is notable in terms of "what's currently acceptable to admit about the economy and stock market in the major media". The country and perhaps the world is moving from denial towards acceptance. I don't believe that true despair will arrive until the 2nd half of 2002.

BTW, this is a great thread! Thanks to you for starting and moderating it and to all the posters who contribute such a wealth of valuable information and opinion.

Frank, I'd like to direct your attention to The Credit Bubble Bulletin, by Doug Nolan, on Prudent Bear. I highly recommend this set of articles to anyone interested in getting a better idea of the credit situation underlying the problems of East and West.
