This is a terrible day in our history - just as bad as Dec. 7th maybe worse. Our sympathies go out to all those who mourn for loved ones who won't return from this mornings trip to work.

It appears to me that the market will be affected for weeks to come, but Americans will be affected for years to come.

Now we have to find and punish the perpetrators to bring this thing to a necessary conclusion - that such acts do not stand in defiance of one of our cherished American rights: freedom from fear (for those who for centuries found a refuge here up to the present).

We've been doing a lot of buying and selling, losing and winning, cheering and booing, counting and recounting (fun and games); but now we've got to bite the bullet. It's the first time it's happened inside our homeland - attacked from without.
