JP Morgan sees larger 2001 rate cut

HONG KONG (CBS.MW) -- JP Morgan Chase (JPM: news, chart, profile) said Monday it has revised its outlook for U.S. interest rates for the rest of 2001, predicting the Fed will cut by another 75 basis points due to the economic slowdown.

"We now have a total of 75 basis points, with 25 points coming before the October 2 (Fed) meeting, 25 points at the meeting and 25 points thereafter," Bijan Aghevlri, head of Asian Pacific economic research at JP Morgan Chase, told CBS.MarketWatch.com
