Cheeky Kid was posting early on that the y2K thing was a bunch of hype. If you go back to March 1999, I was posting anecdotal evidence that it was all a bunch of BS too.

I pointed out that *all* of the businesses and government agencies that I was dealing with in 1999 had completed their Y2K remediation long before and that they had these huge budgets on the books that they were looking to spend before the money got taken away.

We would have been better off it there was an actual problem, because then at least they wouldn't have been able to spend their budgets to overbuild their infrastructure and thus causing the trough in spending that we are going through now.

I talked about the Y2K stuff on the Piffer OT thread as well as some of the Y2K threads.
