Oh, heavens, my own boat is still sitting the storm out in the safe harbor.

Just got off the phone with my dad. Today's his 69th birthday. His best friend told him to buy Lucent because it's so cheap. He wants me to help him pick a computer so he can access his Fidelity account on-line and buy and sell stocks with the click of a mouse like his brother does. The horror, the horror!

Speaking of my uncle, who's been investing in the stock market since the 1960's, my dad says he sold a lot of different stocks last week. I said, that's called "puking up," and he said that's exactly what my uncle did, puked up. So maybe that's some sign of some kind of bottom? My uncle's not what I'd call a weak hand.

I don't try to call stock market bottoms, but I am willing to go on record that we haven't seen the bottom in the economy yet.

Hi, elmat.

Agreed. The infringer would have to expend millions upon millions in an attempt to make CDMA ASICs which, as you know, are very, very difficult to produce. Nokia I think finally did it, but it was only after many, many years of frustration and effort.

The infringer would then have to get into the handset business, one of the most globally competitive, and compete with Nokia, Samsung, et al.

All this effort and risk, including litigation, just to save on a measly 5% royalty? Seems a bit much to me.
