Good morning, well you have been up to a lot. I have only one worry I smile too much. I'm worried that I don't care about things falling apart around me. <gg> I could lose about 20 pounds myself, maybe I should ride to Austin. Someday you will see me. I have pretty much lost my fight with the insurance company to have my cochlear implant covered, although I still have two options in the works and I could sue, which I'm not going to do. I have the attorney general office on Fortis's case, we haven't heard anything yet from them. The other is having the law changed in Illinois. I have been able to get the attention my state rep. His note back to me follows.

From Thomas L. Johnson, Illinois State Representative

Thank you for recent letter regarding the problem you have encountered with your insurance provider. I certainly appreciated your bringing this critical issue to my attention. I wanted you to know that I share your concerns and plan on reviewing this matter for introduction of legislation in the upcoming session.

Cool. I want them to change the law so the providers can't get away with saying a cochlear implant is a hearing aid. Saying a cochlear implant is a hearing aid is like saying retina implant is a pair of glasses. Many states have already clarified the issue it's time for Illinois to do so, not only that they should force coverage of hearing aids for all people in Illinois not just children. All of this going to be too late for me, since I'm going to pay for the it myself and have the surgery done at end of this month. But at least my hard work on this matter will help others that come behind me. Anyone that is reading has Fortis as your Insurance Provder, DROP THEM. <g>
