TO Hg & Alan...

All of our portfolios are better left unseen these days, but the fact that options give us the opportunity to book extra income we ordinarily wouldn't have, puts us ahead of the game. Additionally if one is put while selling puts and we get a position in a stock...say qcom at 55 (yes I know we're way below that now) but we sold that put for 2.8...we are at 52.2 in cost basis...No matter how I look at...the fact that I have the OPTION to play options makes me feel like I can affect my long term portfolio rather than just watching it shrink in dismay. That's alot in my book...plus many of us will get put and end up with positions we would have kicked ourselves later for if we hadn't gotten into them now. It's just ugly right now...and that makes doing anything seem like a mistake. But I think this thread will have an entirely different perspective in 6 months... All Best, PoetTrader
