It is sickening to watch the Democrats, led by Daschle, trying to blame the Clinton economic crash on Bush. Clearly, this economic situation was well underway months before Clinton left office. Clearly? Provide me with statistics dated from last summer that show the economy was collapsing, please. Most econ. indices began to crash right around the time of the election, particularly after the Reps. said that if Gore did not give up his fight for the presidency [in spite of getting more votes than Bush and in spite of a corrupted election in one of the swing states, FL], the country [or at least the economy] was going to hell in a hand basket. Subsequently, it was in early Dec when the consumer indices indicated that consumer buying had plummeted. The Rep. scare tactics worked. The idiot king personally threatened, over and over again, that a price would be paid economically if he was not made pres. right away. Shortly thereafter, the Sup. Court stepped in and appointed him president. And in 8 short mos., we are in the middle of the incredible shthole mess. After nearly ten years of prosperity and against overwhelming odds, Bush did what his family does best....put us into a recession. To hear Daschle come out suggesting it is the "Bush" economy makes one want to throw up. These people are such out and out liars they simply cannot be trusted. I have come to believe there is no such thing as a liberal with principle. It just doesn't exist. You know what's sad is how poorly informed you are. Do you know its being promoted all over the net that Bush has the lowest IQ of any US president and nearly everyone, including Europeans, believes it...even though its not based on fact. That's because it feels like a correct statement when you consider his speeches and performance over the past 8 mos. You can say what you want about Clinton or Gore but no one ever thought they were stupid. But go ahead....you Reps. sit back and btch about the liberals; however, when Bush takes your party down [and he will] you will have no one to blame but yourselves. Three years, 3 mos. and counting!!
