COMBINED HWP/CPQ RIVALLING EMC?

I know very little about the product lines of the respective companies, but even if HWP & CPQ both had wonderful product offerings, NORMALLY when two such companies combine, the issues of:

-- what do we keep?
-- what do we drop?
-- which people stay?
-- which people leave?

consume a GREAT deal of energy, and very often what surfaces after the process is considerably LESS than the sum of the parts, going in.

I am not saying that this is what is going to happen, but
it takes extraordinary technical and marketing wisdom and people skills to have such a transitional process work out on the plus side.

Just as on the PC side the market seems to be taking the view that this represents an opportunity for DELL, I would be inclined to assume something similar on the storage side relative to EMC.

Namaste!
