I especially like the confirmation that IBM's experience with the process AMD has licensed from it showed that it "boosts logic speed by over 25% compared with an equivalent bulk process, while also reducing power consumption." (page 6)

There is no proof that AMD has licensed any process from IBM. My take is that they are designing a chip (Barton) to run on IBM's .13um SOI process and IBM will fab it. If you
believe AMD will receive a 25% performance boost from SOI and reduced power consumption, I think you will be very disappointed.
