Quaterra's supplies arrive at Ketchikan, Alaska

Mon 10 Sept 2001

News Release

Mr. Thomas Patton reports
A supply barge carrying camp facilities and diamond drilling equipment has
arrived at Union Bay, 45 kilometres north of Ketchikan in southeast Alaska.
First-ever drill testing of high-grade platinum-palladium outcrop
occurrences on the project commenced Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001. Several
indicated mineralization zones within a nearly five-kilometre-long corridor
will be tested during the first phase drill program.
Quaterra Resources and 50:50 joint venture partner, International Freegold
Mineral Development Inc., previously have reported high-grade surface
outcrop values ranging to 19 grams per tonne combined platinum and
palladium.
Quaterra is earning its 50-per-cent interest by spending $1.0-million
(U.S.) on exploration and development, making staged payments totalling
$100,000 over the next four years.
