Of course. store.sun.com in performance and much better in price, or comparable in price and much better in performance - take your pick. Mostly due to the high price of a single processor Itanium and the development time that SUN has had with Sparc and Solaris. But what's more to the point, can you find an Itanium server that's comparable in price and performance to SUNs Enterprise Ultra 5S server? The whole point of SHV is that it's standard, which means it's available in a variety of configurations to suit various demands, and that there are a lot of them out there. That's not going to happen for Itanium when servers in general start at $1K and Itanium's platform starts at $20K.
