Hi George,
I converted to NG when I bought my house 6 years ago. My wife got a long term fixed price contract for our NG 2 years ago at a great price, before last year's spikes, bless her heart :o).

Anyway, despite the my NG price remaining constant the 'delivery portion' of my gas bill has increased. This reflects that the rates that the pipelines charge are not fixed and vary with the price of NG. Of course if the pipeline set's up delivery contracts (which is also common) then these have the same effect on the pipelines that good/bad hedges have on trusts and E&P companies.

regards
