And who were the aggressor nations in the 1948 war?

Who was using British supplied artillery to barrage Israeli positions, many of which were in these villages?(Btw, the Israelis possessed very few artillery pieces in that war).

And would the perpetual state of war between Arabs and Jews for some 40 odd years have anything to do with why so many Palestinians were displaced and never repatriated to their homes in Israel?

And following up on this last question, what obligation does a defending state entail in dealing with refugees created by another states perpetual acts of aggression?

All of the above lie at the heart of the Palestinian "issue".
