<<Subject : NO PLACE LIKE HOME...
Do you know whether Syrian Jews bothered to put in at Tel Aviv before travelling to NY??>>

Come on, Gus, be serious. You are shocked that some Jews prefer to live in the US rather than in Israel? Well, there are over 5 million of us, including your truly. Jews have never been a monolith, and never will be. You should know that – you are an intelligent person (unless you talk about Jews or Israel). So, some other Jews don't like it in Israel? Among Jews there are more non-conformists, people who go their own way, than among anybody else (and no, I don’t have the statistics). And you know what, I have even more shocking news for you. Are you ready, Gus? You better sit down. Ok, here it goes - there are some people who don’t like it here in the US. Shocked? I will go even one step further – show me a place where everyone is fat and happy, and I’ll show you a mental hospital where everyone had a lobotomy.

Yeah.. ain't it funny how you all fail to make even a hint of protest over the plight of folks like these Syrian Jews, who are finally being "permitted" to leave under a "secret deal" between Bush and Assad..

I mean... not only were they repressed, but they weren't permitted to even leave the country.

Yet, you'll spend endless hours denigrating Israel, which actually bettered the Palestinian economy after 1967, and doesn't prevent anyone from leaving who wants to leave.

Just face some facts... the Arabs repress their minority communities in a manner which is far worse than anything the Israelis do. Thousands of Oriental Jews have fled to Israel, often with only the clothes on their backs, after having all of their worldly goods expropriated by Arabs.

But the world won't waste even a tear on their behalf.

I'm just a realist here, folks.. It's a nasty world in the Mid-East, with most nations living in a balance of terror, rather than outright war, or god forbid, actual peace.

And it's going to take years for these folks to realize their motto should be "make money, not war".
