Doppler, a poster on prubear (mannfn11) asserts that the cycle wave 'V' actually began at the 1982 low as the rampant inflation distorted that period on the charts. It makes sense and I find it counts better. Try it from there. Puts us in a Primary wave '4'.

My understanding of Prechter is that we began Cycle wave 3 in 1982. This would put us now in Cycle wave 4. The leg that begain out of the 1974 low would be Supercycle wave 5.
