"Carter was a nice guy, an honest guy, but who was in WAY over his head. "

W is nice. After the friday spin, honesty does not appear to be his strong suit.

** Ot ** Question for the political history buffs

Who was the cabinet member in the Eisenhower administration, that convinced Eisenhower it would be in the country's interest to to stop buying and selling gold. ( at $35.00 an ounce). This played havoc in the gold markets and some people made a lot of money on that dumb idea. (clue it wasn't a Democrat ).

The name Sherwood Adams comes to mind but I'm not sure if he was the culprit.

All presidents have people near them that figure out some screwey scam whereby they make money if the President would issue some type of Presidential order directly or indirectly.

Regards, Jerome
