This thread is so nice in the mornings when the liberals are still in bed. Is it too much champagne the nite before or just the liberal lifestyle?

Quit worrying about "socialism". The US is the least socialist developed country and isn't likely to ever be much more. Besides, considering Canada and Europe are all socialist it's hardly a dirty word to be scared about. The reason the US will never be as socialist as those allies is that our corporations are too powerful. Also because people like you are scared of the word. Having lived in Holland I can tell you socialism can work too. There are many positive sides to socialism particularly if you are a woman with children. Women in this country have it tough by comparison, and a lot tougher than men. It's a shame for instance some single mothers in this coutnry become homeless because our welfare laws are so tough now. I supported workfare but it has its victims, mainly female with kids. Maybe that's why the GOP is the party of the white male. At least some white males. I'm one and disagree with their policies.
