You said that millions were put out of work because of tractors and "fled" to the cities. If "millions" were put out of work, then "millions" would no longer be employed.

DAK, I don't have links to offer into evidence but common sense would tell me that the number of tractors in use increased substanially after 1910. The tractor elimated the need for millions of draft animals and freed up tens of million of acres of grazing lands for the animals so this land now grow people food -g- Mike
