Puck, has Allen had ANY gains in any investments the last two years??? $400 million buy-in, $27 million sell...fairly substantial loss of funds.... Unless something else REALLY big is happening, and he just couldn't afford to be asociated with INSP any longer...

Allen can get the tax write-off, possibly against a realized gain he has generated somewhere else in his portfolio
