Legalizing/controlling marijuana has several positives: 1) tax revenues to pay for hard drug treatment 2) control 3) kids don't get arrested 4) takes away the rebel coolness factor so less interesting to kids 5) gives those who need it (and some do) the outlet without criminalizing them (they'll smoke it anyway) 6) lets our boondoggle War On Drugs concentrate on the hard stuff (coke, heroin, speed) In Holland ironically the kids have little interest in marijuana. Maybe 10% use it and the rest just don't care about it.
