Using "socialism" as a dirty word is ignorant. the US is already about 35% socialist. Euro and Canada are 50-80% socialist. Who isn't socialist in other words? very few places in the world. Totalitariam states are 90% socialist. So we are the least socialist major country on earth and many of our problems stem from the fact that we are not a little more socialist. That's a judegement call. Even the GOP only wants 5-10% less. Dems want 5-10% more. Not that big a difference really except we can afford it and we can do it right so it's not scary. Or shouldn't be.
