Will it be dead money for awhile....I dont know. I dont know that any more then I know what any other stock is going to do. But I do believe JDSU will come back one day and I do not wish to guess a bottom or a recovery, so one must select prices at which they feel safe buying a stock and I feel safe buying jdsu at $5 or less. Additionally, one thing I always agreed with Voltaire on is although you actually and technically make your money when you sell, you can't accomplish that goal unless you have bought at a lower price.....hence, you actually make your money when you buy and the action is set in motion. Naturally, one wants to buy at as low a cost as possible, and like I have said, certain stocks should be bought at certain levels.....I mean i am hearing they are calling a possible bottom on ORCL at $7ish....yea, well, I dont mind buying the 2nd largest software co in the world at $7 a share which would give it a very low pe......and I'll keep buying more if it keeps dropping.....I am not buying mothernature.bombs that have fallen, I am buying sector goliaths that hopefully will be around 10 - 20 years from now, and I am buying them when they get beaten down and nobody else wants them, and at a price that allows further buying if she drops.....my original cost basis on jdsu shares I didnt sell a long time ago is $70 or so, bought after election was settled. I now have far more stock, with a cost basis of about $8.50 average for all of it. If it drops, i will buy more and lower my basis even more. If she hits $1 or $2, I will have such a large truckload and low cost basis, I could sell at $6 for a triple probably, and what would selling at $10, $15, $25, $50, $100...net me?? And of course the flip side to this is that the FO Giant sinks and goes bankrupt and I lose a fair bit of money, but like I said, thats alot of Fiber in the ground and it's gonna have to be lit one day, and when it does, my hope is that JDSU benefits....the fund managers jump back on the bandwagon and off we go.....hoping anyway<ggg>........but one thing I know freeus, is that I lost a ton in this market....I rode it down all the way.....I am not bailing out now. I wasn't smart enough to bail out before, I am not bailing out of jdsu at $6 and etc, etc, on all my other stocks. I am not going to try and short the market either....I dont believe in jumping on the bandwagon after the fact. I wasnt smart enough to short at higher levels, I'm not gonna try it now......nope, always ten minutes late for the party...not anymore.....we may have alot further to fall, and it may take a long while to recover, or it may happen sooner then people think...it's anybodies guess...but this here cowboy is gonna be loaded with alot of quality stock at very cheap prices, whether recovery happens in 1 year or 10 years........ Keith....eternal optimist, turned pessimist, but pessimistically optimistic <ggg>
