All I can tell you is 2 days ago, Saturday afternoon, Kerry backed way off of it and wouldn't touch it...if anything he inferred that a cut now would do more harm for the budget deficit than overall good for the economy----but for the most part he avoided softball questions on the subject entirely......it's a divisive issue in Congress and with the near 50/50 senate and a really nasty mid-term election next year, divisive issues are longshots at getting thru...plus Kerry has never really supported the kind of cap. gains cuts the Republicans want---his baby is slashing capital gains taxes for long term(10 years+) investments in small companies.

a cap. gains tax cut if it even is introduced this Fall, at the very least will be a monumental battle
