Local news programs here have repeatedly mentioned that this is a cooler than average summer and that that has been a major factor in saving us from blackouts. Apparently Patty's ears are plugged with wax. Or something.

Of course, if you're absolutely determined to blame the situation on Bush and his "cronies", you've got to come up with an explanation other than the weather. Like Jefford's defection.

Some news programs have said "Watch out for next summer!" Others claim that sufficient new generating capacity will be on line by then that there will not be a problem. I have also seen articles claiming that in a few years there will be a glut of electrical power. Which is what one would expect as a result of a free market.
