How far down does the relation between size and overbubblemania go? Ifr the big caps are overpriced relative to the midcaps does that extemd down so that the microcaps are an even better bargain? Because of their relative illiquidity it may be prudent to be more diversified but many are at less than ten times earnings, below or near book, and with cash a major asset.

More than likely CNN simply had their report wrong. It's possible that I made a mistake too.

I didn't really admit that did I? <ggg>

Anyway here is another handy site for checking past fundamentals against those today WSRN:

wsrn.com

Looking over AMAT here one would have to say it does not look all that overvualed at all since the Price to book of 4.22 is not all that different from the P/B of 4.08 in 1998. Surprisingly the P/B on KLIC is now 1.73 while it was as low 1.11 in 1998.

There are a lot of ways to attempt to figure out where a bottom should be for a stock in a cycle but there is no real way to know for sure. It all depends on how rapid a recovery we get both for the company and the industry. Right now the downward pressure is still on for these stocks. We may have to test the low set earlier this year on the SOX before we can expect a sustainable rebound.

Take a look at this chart and notice how much the SOX has outperformed the NASDAQ:

If the SOX does retest the lows set in early April then the NASDAQ will set even lower lows.
