Jerome, you're right to cast doubt on these 2 year forecasts. Just look at an example of a forecast made 13 months ago Message 16043316

Many investors and analysts seem to think it is necessary to get stocks to absolutely reasonable valuations before a bottom can be called. That might be valid if the economy stayed at a bottom, too. They want stocks priced for perfection. Pessimistic perfection, that is. It won't happen and don't ask me why not. Ask Blossom. :)
