Well, in a sense you are correct. Marx's brand of militant atheism is against religion, not God. However, having convinced himself that he was right, he then concluded that "a supernatural religion is incompatible with a scientific society". His society based on materialism would have no room for any kind of supernaturalism. Thus, I deduce that atheism is materialism, and destructive of the spirit. To defeat America, communism has to beat the individual's spirit. Thus, I see the spread of atheism as an evil communist plot to destroy America and the world. But, if you say that you are an atheist not because you think the Church is run poorly, but because you have deduced that there is no such thing as a human spirit, then you are just an irrational boob. IMO. I certainly do not for one instant think that a person has to be a Christian or religious to be a conservative. But to come out and say that you have conclusive proof that there is no Creator is promoting a deception.
