Wally M - At exactly 9AM EDT today at work, we had a scheduled test of internetTV. Image my shock to click on the appropriate link and have Cnn video come up with planes crashing into the World Trade Center. Our prayers are with the innocent victims of this dastardly act of terrorism. We can only hope that perpetrators are tracked down and made to pay for this horrible crime. P

SPECULATION on ECONOMIC and MARKET IMPACT: 1.) Benefit to oil companies from increased demand for petroleum products to build inventories (including filling strategic petroleum reserve) and to fuel war and defense operations, partly offset by decreased demand from decreased commercial air travel. 2.) Benefit to construction industry and raw material industry from increased spending for reconstruction and clean-up of damage. 3.) Benefit to defense and electronics industries from increased government spending for military build-up. 4.) Inflation slowly creeping up from massive injections of liquidity into the banking system. Sure hope we don't get into shortages from rationing and price controls in reaction to rising prices. Any thoughts on other implications or comments on the above ? P
