I should add that I well understand there will be and needs be a considered response by those with the awesome responsibility to root out and fight evil... I long ago gave up the naivete of complete pacifism, as survival of the good depends on backbone.

My post speaks more of the need to restrain the immediate compulsion to blame or to target folks with extremist views, most of whom are not responsible for this assault. Let us not surrender the type of justice we are known for in a mad rush to judgment.

Even now, the media suggests Osama Bin Laden is one of a very few capable of this. I do not agree..... no one believed an ex-soldier could cause the Oklahoma City evil either. It could be a tight group of idiots from organizations we are barely aware of. How many people does it take to hijack 3 planes? I'd say six could do it.

Yes, I understand that police and military and judicial forces are necessary to protect and maintain order and restore peace. But that does not negate the larger, longer lasting task... to help heal, to demonstrate love under fire, and to work to create a world that does less to inspire such a measured evil.
