I watched the second WTC tower collapse in horror and I am worried sick about my brother who works a couple of blocks away from it. The cell phone network is effectively down in NYC and the city is practically shut down with no transportation in or out of the city. NJ phone systems are even worse than New York's. A very dear friend of mine from NJ just had this to say:

am unable to call you... worried about you and kia...

worried about my family.. mother, sister, brother in law, and cousin who were suppose to leave home around 7:30 to come here through the holand..

worried about my cousin who is suppose to arrive to ny today from morocco

worried about my brother in SF who is working in one major area

worried about my mother in morocco who has a high blood pressure and can get a haert attack if she get to worry.. i can not get in touch with her...

i am lost...

i was suppose to have a meeting in the area of world trade center and just geeting ready to go when i herad the news... i saw both building coulapsing from here..

I wish I could reach her for some help, but there is just no way. Email and online chats is all I can do and that is just such an inpersonal way to comfort a friend...

I detest Clinton and his ilk and his whole modus operandi. That being said, this is NOT the time to blame him or anyone else. This could have happened under ANY President. Until now, terrorism in the U.S. was more or less just a minor nusance that didn't require big bucks to fix. But, just like Dec 7, 1941 and Nov 22, 1963, September 11, 2001 will go down in history as one era abruptly ends and a new, less innocent one, perhaps is now beginning. All the White House shenanagins of the Clinton frat-party years might end up being viewed as the good ol' halcion days.
