Camp David is in Maryland, a short helicopter ride from the White House, my guess is maybe 40 or 50 miles away. There is also a mountain bunker somewhere in Maryland or Virginia that was hollowed out in the Cold War to serve as a command bunker, and there is a special plane the President can use (not Air Force One) to fly around in and coordinate defense activities.

Camp David is located near Thurmont, Maryland. North of Frederick, MD, and south of Gettysburg.
