There is a lot of uncertainty here of whether this is it, or is this just the first move like Pearl Harbor. There will be a big disruption to travel and the like until people feel safe again, oil is already going up which could have an economic effect if it sticks and various financial firms took a big hit. Barak said "The World will be a different place from now on". The Gulf crisis helped drive the early 90s recession.

News media should do well and yesterday by coincidence I took a position on News Corporation....

This attack may change for the worst two things:

- the image of America as a safe harbor for world capital

- the mood of the American consumer.

The first may remove a considerable prop to US securities markets. The second may trigger a vicious recession.
