JBin, I am an engineer and after watching both buildings collapse on TV, I find it hard to believe that either collapse was caused by the crash alone. It could have been secondary attacks. But it is also possible (and maybe more likely) that burning jet fuel running down the various shafts heated the steel reinforcement to the point of collapse. The fuel would have flowed downward and the building would have acted as a chimney creating a blowtorch effect on the steel.

I doubt that the attackers anticipated being able to bring the buildings down so easily, this will raise many discussions in the building code community.

Still no word from my cousin or his wife who were both in the area.
