OMD,
I agree with everything that you say. I believe that a military response that you described is necessary and appropriate. This threat needs to be neutralized

<<But which side of the reaction spectrum ought we to err on?>>

And there is the tough question. We're in a bad spot. We have been dealing with state sponsored terrorism from the Middle east for years now. I think in many cases we have been quite mild in our response. In years past I can think of times where American bodies were dragged through the streets while crowds rejoiced. Well, now he, she, they have chosen to bring the event to our soil. To me it's a question of how bloody we as Americans are willing to get in an attempt to put an end to this. I have feelings both ways. A part of me says large parking facility and free oil. Another part of me knows that isn't the answer - at least the Christian answer.

On a different note, as bad as this sounds, people might want to tape this for their kids. Having a tape of the event we are watching would be like having a tape of Pearl Harbor from our parents. The emotions and outrage of the moment is something that many times can't be recreated. Just a thought.
