For the average Arab in the street, it's a case of forgive them for they know not what they do. I have seen the same blind passion and self-destructive ignorance in Africa, the Balkans and other odd corners of the world. Screaming in the street gives a sense of power to the otherwise powerless.

It was much the same motivation that fueled the KKK and some of the less savory aspects of our history.

Tom, I think it is misguided that the price of oil is up. Yes, the military may consume a bit more. But this will setback air travel enough to impact worldwide oil use. The big losers will be airlines, insurance companies, and banks. There are few, if any, winners as a result of this act of war.
