Interesting, Roger. My Dad was telling me that an errant B-25 hit a building in Manhattan in WW2 and basically bounced off without leaving much of a scratch on the building. Maybe that was the Empire State Building story with a slightly different retelling. You are right that the WTC would have been designed for a possible event like an air crash. Still wonder if someone didn't get enough C4 inside to blow out the steel supports. The investigators won't have any trouble finding out if your jet fuel theory was right.
